You have to look at the different levels in the medical industry. Doctors are employees. Low level peons if you wish. They do as the they are told by the medical ociation and whatever. The doctor could be an honest person, but they are working within a corrupt system. I will start by saying I have an MD and a PhD in molecular biology. I currently study cancer formation and metastasis and have many publications in the field. I can ure all the readers that HPV infection is absolutely the most common cause of cervical cancer. Most women who are infected with HPV do not get cancer. The problem is that many do. There are many types of HPV, some of which are much more likely to cause cervival cancer. This type of “journalism” is dangerous.

To follow up on my previous comment. It can be compared to melanoma or lung cancer. We know that smoking increases the risk of lung cancer. Do all smokers get lung cancer? No. Sunburns increase the risk of skin cancer. Does everyone who has a sunburn get melanoma? Aboslutely not. HPV is a cause of cervical cancer. Does everyone infected with HPV get cancer? Absolutely not. That does not mean it isn’t the major cause. The E6 and E7 proteins disrupt normal cell cycle and can cause cancer.

You bet wrong. I have nothing to do with Merck. In fact, I a critic of Big Pharma and support the No Free Lunch movement. But criticizing the business practices of a company and dissing a life-saving vaccine are two very different things.
If you convince someone to refuse the vaccine who later dies of a preventable HPV related cancer, then you are responsible for that person’s death. Are you willing to take that on? No, I didn’t think so. And that’s irresponsible.

i am SOO glad that i didn’t give in to our pediatrician. when the vaccine first came out, i knew immediately my oldest, 16, wouldn’t be getting one. her ped, however, had different plans & REALLY pressured me until i almost felt like a bad mom about saying no. now i feel like a super-mom! i almost lied & said that my daughter had already had sex just to stop the badgering! i also lied about my younger ones having had chicken pox so they wouldn’t have to get those vaccines either!

Thank you for your honest and professional opinion. If you read my comments under the other “Gardisil HPV Hoax” link, I agree with you completely. This is not about pharmaceutical companies, its about medical advancements. Be greatful that we now have the options to immunize our bodies before we are infected with deadly diseases..
