If you truly believe in vaccines then the children who were vaccinated would be protected against diseases right??Then the ones who would be at risk would be the un vaccinated so why worry

Ignorance. It's the only logical reason. If vaccinations actually did provide protections they claim without any other risks, who would be against that? People who follow blindly the medical profession and the food industry of today are doomed to being another statistic where Alzheimer's disease has been shown to be caused by mercury, along with Autism.

There is a very excellent book written by Timothy O'Shea that gives the best explanation on why vaccines are such a farce and why they are dangerous, especially to children. This book also explains why animal testing is not the same as testing on humans. The human test is ongoing in our society and it is showing that we are suffering for it.

This is one of the only unbiased reference books on the topic, since most of what is available to read simply recycles the same old story: that vaccines are safe and effective, and that we need more, more and always more. This book is NOT the alternative medicine point of view; its sources are drawn from mainstream medicine, mainstream science, and mainstream law. That is where the real opposition to today's vaccine policy is coming from.

It's the same people that think pasteurized milk is good for them and genetic engineering is O.K. because scientist are smart and they have the public's health interest at heart.

Because they believe the marketing crap put out by the pharmaceutical companies. Most people are stupid and believe everything they read, or hear from the doctor or nurse. Like sheep to the slaughter.

    Follow the money.

Yes, you are correct. But those of us who believe in vaccines are trying to protect those who are too ignorant to protect themselves.

Because most people care if children die, whether or not they're their own children.

Also, an outbreak in unvaccinated children would put vaccinated people at risk too. The unvaccinated kids would probably get treated with antibiotics, which could lead to the strain becoming mutated and antibiotic resistant. It could potentially become mutated enough to infect even the kids who were initially vaccinated.

Not to mention the strain that an additional epidemic / pandemic would put on the health care system.

AND some people do not have the choice of vaccination. They may be allergic to certain ingredients in the vaccine, or may not be able to afford it. Is it fair for them to contract a potentially fatal disease?

AND vaccines aren't 100% foolproof. It's possible to get vaccinated against something and still contract it.

Think about smallpox – it was eradicated because there was a massive, worldwide immunization campaign. It's called herd immunity, and it's a highly effective way to practically eliminate deadly diseases.

I think it is irresponsible for a parent not to vaccinate. That is how the dreaded diseases were put under control. You healed the sick and protected the healthy.

It's because we can't allow these very dangerous diseases to "hang around," to use a sports term. We must stomp them out, which only can be done with universal vaccination. Every time an unvaccinated child gets sick, the disease maintains a foothold and potentially could become deadly again to even the previously vaccinated. The reason that most unvaccinated children don't get sick is because of "herd immunity" — all the OTHER children around them are vaccinated, so they are safe. The problem is these diseases have been contained for so long, we have lost our fear of them. We shouldn't.
