Ok I just got finished watching a video (link at bottom) about the dangers of vaccines and what not. I was already worried about the whole MMR causing autism, but now I have a list of things to worry about. My daughter is 7 months and has all of her shots so far and she is fine. So do you guys think we should be worried or not?

Get informed, don't just be worried. That said it is hard to get straight answers since doctors, through drug companies have a lot to gain by promoting vaccinations. I am preg. with my first and my midwife recommended waiting till my boy is 1 year of age, since breastfeeding passes your immunities to your child and the baby is better equiped to handle the vaccine as well as having only one shot administered at a time as to distinguish which if any cause a reaction.

    No, don't worry.

And for the sake of the millions of other children out there, please vaccinate your child.

Of course there are a lot of positives to vaccination, but I have heard a lot of negative as well, i.e. the autism thing, some vaccines containing mercury and lead, etc etc. Ultimately it's a decision you have to make. My husband and I know some people who did not give their baby his original MMR vaccination for these reasons. They had a little trouble finding a pediatrician, but they are doing what they feel is best for their child. There is no right or wrong. Everyone chooses to raise their child differently, whether it be dietary choices, discipline, or vaccination -you need to do what suits you best.

people post those things to scare you and usually to get you on board with their cause. The fact is the government has been vaccinating children for decades and in a very few rare cases the child suffers a side effect. There are side effects with everything. If you found out your child had meningitis and required a certain medication to cure her/him but there was a severe side effect would you let him/her have it? Of course you would. I have 3 kids and #4 on the way and i have vaccinated all my kids and i am not concerned because i trust my doctor. If there was something in those vaccines that could potentially harm my child i'm sure my doc wouldn't give it.

I wouldn't worry about it because my daughter is almost 2 and she is up to date on all her shots and she is perfectly fine. Every child should be imunized so they are protected against illnesses.

I wouldn't be. The risk of not getting the shots by far out weighs your child being sick a few days from the vaccine. Most of the diseases they protect against are life threatening. I would never EVER skip on the shots. =) Hope this helps.

No, I never was concerned. I was more concerned about them getting the diseases that the immunizations prevent. My kids, ages 5 and 8, are very much up-to-date on all vaccinations and I'm glad that they are safe from those who are not vaccinated. Also, I'm glad that they don't pose a risk to those who aren't. I would feel horribly if my kids didn't get their shots and ended up giving something to a child who isn't vaccinated. The complications that can occur with certain illnesses are deadly, and I don't want to be the cause of it. I am happy that my kids will remain healthy. :)
