While I don't doubt for a split second that "Dr." Mercola is a quack, every now and again he is right about something. Supposedly, the Gardasil vaccine is quite dangerous and not worth the risk. How true is this? Have you or someone you know had a negative experience with it? I personally didn't get it, and am too old for it I believe, but didn't want one to begin with.

Yeah, I'm all set. My concern is my 2 year old daughter-some places want to make it mandatory for girls to attend public schools. I'd rather just teach my daughter about safe sex personally.

The problem with HPV is that you can get it even when practicing safe sex. Often, the genital warts are found on the base of the penis, a place the condom doesn't protect. When the warts come in contact with the vagina, the disease is transmitted. Safe sex isn't always so safe.

I haven't read enough on Gardasil to know if it's dangerous, but after my own experience with HPV, I probably would want this for my own daughter. HPV is the NUMBER 1 STD in US colleges and universities.

There has not been enough time to see if there were any long term effects. Suppose 10 years from now they find it has made women sterile. Is it worth the risk?

To get this infection, you have to have unprotected sex. Instead of shooting this into our daughters, we need to teach them to just say no and when the time is right make sure it is monogamous. That is the best way to keep us from this infection.

Before deciding, check the ingredients and see if you want to put them into your body.

I've had all three Guardasil shots. The first shot made me feel nauseous and my arm was sore the next day. The other two didn't bother me. So unless it's caused problems with my reproductive parts then I haven't experienced anything bad with it.
