Ive read on an article that vaccines are one of the major contributions to Autism. Before 1989 the federadal gov. required only 10 vaccinations. Now theres 24. At the same time, the last survey done for autistic children in 1988 was 1 in 2,637. Now, there's 1 in every 166.

Anyone know what other alternative or is it safe just to completely not vaccinate my newborn?

There are a number of conditions believed to be associated with vaccination, including autism, asthma, and sudden infant death syndrome. One of the known risks of vaccinations is brain damage. To say they are safe is a biased opinion. They have risks, the question is whether the benefits outweigh the risks. For more information, backed by scientific studies, see www.avn.org.au. This website also gives alternatives.

Remember, it is immunisation that is required – this can be done by vaccination, but can also be done by actually getting the disease – so if your child has chickenpox, they have been immunised (not vaccinated). If your child does get any of the diseases for which immunisation is required, take them to the doctor to get their immunisation card marked as immunised.

Vaccines dont cause autism, and recent studies have shown this, the only reason why more autistic children are diagnosed is because the physicians know more about it and how to diagnose. Vaccines are very important. As a nurse I am sad to see children come in to the hospital whose parents refused to vaccinate them with diseases that they shouldn't have. You will make the best decision for your baby, but please ask your pediatrician.

Vaccines do not cause autism. It is absolutely untrue. If you don't vaccinate your child they could end up with any of those nasty diseases they get vaccinated to prevent. You say you want to not vaccinate your child to help them so they won't get autism? What about every other deadly disease they could pick up? That's some really faulty logic.

short story. we have two boys. when the first was almost 3 he was diagnosed w/ autism. after read an all, we stopped giving the younger one any vaccines because of the scare. he was about 7~8 months old. well our second child was diagnosed w/ autism too a year later. so i am positive that vaccines played no role in his autism.
later on when he was 3 he needed to transition to school and that required him to get caught up on vaccinations. we made a point of using thimerisol free vaccines. there was no change in the severity of autism after the vaccines.
if you're still worried just check that the dr's office has up to date vaccines. mercury's been black listed for years. and/or you can get one vaccine at a time. it means more shots but is less of a trauma to the young body…

It's obvious that it's forgotten that this is in an alternative medicine forum. I too have read about vaccines being harmful but you really can say that about any medication. If it's not natural then it's probably not safe for humans. It's pretty basic right? Well things have really gotten away from that way of thinking and we are all in it for a quick fix. I suggest taking your child to a naturalpathic doctor and see what options are out there for you. Please if you have some good info come back to share!
    Good luck!

My children are grown, and I admit that we did vaccinate them. But in recent years I have met many parents who refuse to vaccinate. Their kids seem very healthy. And there are many more vaccines now than there were my children were small 25+ years ago.
Do be aware that in many areas failure to vaccinate could land you in trouble with cps. You will need to check your state laws.
